Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern QRB’s relationship with you in relation to this website.
Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully.
Catching a Domain Name
Any UK domain name that has not been renewed within 90 days of its domain expiry date enters a five day pending delete status and then is “dropped” which means it is made available for anyone to register. The domain drops on a specific pre-published time and date, and our servers (along with many other companies’ servers) attempt to “drop-catch” the domain before anyone else.
Our QRB Dropcatching site is a customer-facing service that for a small fee allows anyone to use our drop-catching systems to attempt to catch a domain that is due to drop in the next few days.
When we successfully catch a domain name, you are actually buying the right to use the domain for a set period of time (as shown by the Expiry Date on the Nominet WHOIS) and you need to keep renewing the domain if you wish to keep using it. If you do not renew a domain then the name will be cancelled and you will no longer have any rights to use that domain name.
Booking a Domain with us
You make an offer to purchase from us by completing the booking process on the web site or by emailing us. Your offer to book a domain does not form a binding contract until it is accepted by us.
All prices displayed on our web site exclude VAT.
On receipt of your booking, we may send you an order acknowledgement to the email address you provided. This order acknowledgement email will contain details of the domain booked. This email is only to acknowledge that your booking has been received and is being reviewed. It is not acceptance by us of any offer to book a domain name.
If you pay by PayPal then PayPal may present you with a receipt on screen and/or email you confirmation of your payment. Any such PayPal receipt or confirmation is not acceptance by us of any offer to book a domain name.
Booking acceptance and the formation of a binding contract between you and us only takes place when we confirm the domain has been booked on our systems. Please note that you must confirm that you are aware of, and accept in full, the current Nominet terms and conditions in order to book a domain with us.
Rejecting your Booking
We reserve the right not to accept your offer to book a particular domain name and in the event that you have already made a payment we will refund that payment in full within seven working days of your request to do so.
Domain Transfers
On request we will transfer successfully caught domains to another registrar free of charge.
Controlling a Domain and Updating the DNS
Once we catch a domain, you have control of the domain and can update the DNS and/or transfer the domain to another registrar.
If you have left the registrar as ZYCON then you will be emailed login details to allow you to update the DNS online.
If you have requested the domain be transferred to another registrar then their customer service department can advise on how to update the DNS.
Cancelling Your Order – Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
If you are a Consumer (a natural person who is acting for the purposes other than those of his trade, business or profession) then you have certain rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Under these regulations you must notify us in writing or by email that you wish to cancel your contract before the end of the statutory cancellation period of 14 days after the domain was booked.
Our systems poll new instructions every four hours and so you can only cancel your contract using the Consumer Contracts Regulations if you notify us at least four hours before the previously-advised drop-time of the domain.
